Internationalization
The bibliography and archive database are currently—and inexcusably—dominated by published work and collections from the United States. PHCR plans to expand the bibliography and archive database to include listings from around the globe, and in non-English languages. If you are interested in contributing to the internationalization effort, please contact PHCR.
Oral History Initiative
Plans are underway for an exciting oral history initiative to document the remembered histories of leading figures in the field. Digitized interviews and transcripts will be made available to students and researchers here on the PHCR website. PHCR and its scholar-collaborators are currently seeking foundation and other grant support for the initiative.
Dedicated Archives
The long-term goal of PHCR is to establish a dedicated archives for the history of communication research, in cooperation with a research library and designed to accept, organize, preserve and digitize scholars’ and institutions’ papers. The archives, once established, will be made freely available to anyone with an internet connection.
